Reader Description

The boy in this story discovers he has diabetes and can no longer play basketball. His uncle tells him there are other things besides basketball and shows him a kite. This simple act sets the author on a life-long journey.

When the narrator found out that he had diabetes, he had to give up playing basketball. But he kept watching basketball and began collecting caps. Think of something you love doing like a sport or a hobby. Write a list of the pros (good things) and the cons (bad things). If you had to give up this hobby, what could you do instead?
